S355J2 steel are high strength low alloy steels that are commonly used in commercial, marine, and bridge/civil construction projects. As a high-strength, low alloy steel with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio.

Steel type of S355J2(+N) with material number 1.0577 according to DIN EN 10025-2 is one of the standardized unalloyed structural steels. S355J2+N steel is generally suitable for welding using all common processes. In addition to the S355J2+N, the Charpy test is carried out at -20 °C; in the case of S355J2+N, it must reach at least 27 J.
